Numbering policies (NPs)
NPs are the main configuration objects of the platform. They define all aspects of the numbering of error codes. In this section you can see the list of all the NPs defined in your organization, and create new ones.
When creating a NP you must choose a name, a code and an error prefix.
You must also decide if the NP will enforce a code policy on projects or not. You may choose to let projects define their own code policy and also have their own error numbers.
Once you create a NP you can see its details on the right panel. Here you can customize various aspects.
- Error detection settings: choose the padding (fixed length) of the error codes and source code snippet size.
- Knowledge base labels: define the fields that will be available in the KB.
- Language settings: select additional languages for error messages.
Code policy settings let you customize log patterns.
Advanced configuration allows you to define language-specific settings.
